One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, an to enquire in his temple.

Psalm 27:4

Of all things I could ask from the Lord, this is the most important one to me.

For as I see it, if I obtain this, I have in fact acquire the greatest treasure I could possibly hope for: an eternity in God’s presence. At that point I could surely and finally rest assured that my future, my eternal future, has been indeed secured.

All the gold, riches and power found in this world could not compete with this
Awesome inheritance. For everything that our eyes see and our heart desires shall
pass and be no more. It will all be left behind one day. Everything we endlessly labor and strive for will remain here. No matter how much we manage to posses and accumulate, we will not take with us. It will eventually belong to someone else, and then turn to dust. We, on the other hand, will be facing our eternal future: the one that will have no end, the one from where there is no escape. It will be extremely wise for us to set our hearts on securing the only wealth that no one can take away from us, the only Life Insurance that is indeed ours forever: Eternal Life in
Christ Jesus.

That was the reason Jesus came into this world, to purchase it for us. And the beauty of this generous offer is that is freely available to all that desire it. The bill has been paid for already, courtesy of our loving Lord. All we have to do is claim it and follow the instructions given by Jesus himself when he spoke to Nicodemus: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)

So simple, so easy. But, behold, God has given men the freedom to choose. He will not do it for us, for He is indeed a gentleman. He will not interfere with that freedom of choice that he gave us. His desire and pleasure is that we exercise our wisdom and discernment and choose Him. He fervently desires that we choose to know Him and hold on to all His promises. They are real. The decision is ours, and the follow up simple: To confess with our mouth and believe with our hearts that he Jesus is the Lord and the only Savior of our souls.

After being born again, let’s not forget the divine instructions needed to grow up as a new Christian. Read “The Book”, the only one inspired directly by the Holy Spirit: The Bible. His word is to new Christians what milk is to the newborn baby: life itself. Without this nourishment it is impossible to grow. And just as you would not expect a newborn baby to feed himself, even though the bottle might placed next to him in the cradle, do not expect this holy, life-giving word to take root your spirit without your cooperation. You must craved it, desire it, read it and treasure it into your hearts. There it should remain forever, as a never-ending source of spiritual energy and life.

Be truly wise and give Him your life and you too shall have this precious Eternal Divine Inheritance. Alleluia!
