Psalm 138:7

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.
Psalm 138:7

How comforting it is to know that the Lord is always close to you, forever prepared to protect and guide you if only you would invite Him to do so. He stands by and waits … our free will is completely respected by our Gracious God. It is up to us. There are so many benefits that we will enjoy if only we would call upon the name of the Lord Jesus when we are in in any kind of need.

The word says that the Angel of the Lord watches those that fear (reverence) Him. The Angel of the Lord offers better security than any human system does! To me that is so very reassuring. It is also very real, for I have seen the Lord take action on my behalf when someone has taken advantge of me or has done something that is really unkind or unjust. My job is to rest in Him and trust in His infinite love and wisdom. I know that I could never be in better hands than His.

He gives me comfort and peace when I happen to be in the middle of a situation that would ordinarily be upsetting or frightening. Years ago, I was driving on a speeding highway and could hardly see the cars in front of me. As the puddles splashed all over my car, the thunder and lightening surrounded me but I felt peaceful. Somehow, I knew that I would be delivered from the temporary terror I felt. I knew that nothing really would happen to me without my Heavenly Father’s permission. And since I believe that He always wants the best for me, I suddenly realized how blessed I was to count on His everlasting love and everpresent protection.

So marvelous to actually believe, deeply inside of me, that He is in total charge of all that occurs in my life. That He has the power and the desire to do what is really the best for me. That He can actually make everything work out for the best at the end, even though sometimes it might not appear to be so. This trust is more precious than gold and more valuable to me than all the riches of the world. Yes, I can really say that I have seen the hand of the Lord in a very powerful way upholding me when I have been in serious need and that is by no means something I would ever take lightly.
